MISSION: MOTHERSHIP
MISSION: MOTHERSHIP All characters, established or new, will receive this dossier to their devices. Thus, consider all information hereon as ICly available to all characters. Please direct questions here. Once the mission starts, the Bounty Board will have extra side-missions for your character to take until the end of the mission, which is currently slated for mid-October. MOTHERSHIP BRIEFING ![]() PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: LOCATE ZYMANDIS'S TIMELINE.EXE MACHINE. Without the guidance of their own TIMELINE.exe machine, Zymandis will no longer be able to pinpoint universes ripe for destruction. Find the machine and either destroy it or disable it in some way. SECONDARY OBJECTIVE: DESTROY THE MOTHERSHIP. Without their home base, Zymandis's mobility will be crippled. Destroy the Mothership, commandeer it, or otherwise make it unusable. OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE: FREE THE TARAXA-INFESTED AGENTS. Rumor has it that the Taraxa Mother that Audentes encountered in Perdition's Rest is on the Mothership. If she is destroyed, the Zymandis Taraxa hive will be without a leader and will be more easily subdued. MOTHERSHIP OVERVIEW ![]() To help our field recruits blend in, you will be given gold-and-white Zymandis uniforms in your choice of style: the suitlike uniform of support staff, the lab coats of scientists, the fatigues of field agents, the leisurewear of an off-duty agent, etc. No matter what style you choose, all uniforms are outfitted with a hidden bioelectric monitoring system that will alert our staff in Oska to any abnormal changes in your energy signature. In the case of extreme physical stress, the uniform will emit a high-pitched whistle that will stun any organic being in the immediate area who isn't also wearing one of our uniforms. While there is no way to predict who or what you will encounter on the Mothership, Zymandis is known to have robotic footsoldiers, and so we have also outfitted each recruit with three electromagnetic pulse grenades as well as a reusable anti-robotic tazing device. Please note that this is a dangerous undertaking, and we will be unable to recall any individual recruit without recalling the entire team, so it is recommended to travel in small groups to look after one another. MOTHERSHIP LOCATIONS ![]() ![]() We do not have a complete map available of the Mothership, but thanks to the cooperation of captured Zymandis agent Mavahari, we have a general outline of the different sections of the ship. Science Wing: This is where medical bays and laboratories are located. There are also two lecture halls, as well as engineering and robotics labs. Engine Core: The Mothership's engine and controls are located here, along with its rift machines. Bridge: Where the commander of the Mothership gives orders and where the steering controls are located. Personnel Quarters: This section fills an entire deck of the ship and is where agent housing is located, in addition to shopping, cafeterias, practice ranges, gyms, and other entertainment venues. Water treatment plants and energy generators are also located here. Off Limit Areas: These include maintenance corridors, officer's quarters and offices, and other unknown sections that require security clearance. |
Questions for Mavahari
Scott's biggest thing will be that he wants to apologize. He wanted to prevent this (her imprisonment) from happening. While Scott isn't going to volunteer any information about their upcoming mission, he isn't going to lie about it, either. So, if asked, Scott will say that they want to shut down Zymandis' operations, and that while he'll do everything in his power to prevent the loss of life, he knows that's not always possible. Beyond that, he'll ask what she wants for herself, and for her future. And whether he can do anything to help her achieve it.
Ahad
The only thing Ahad wants to know is what Mavahari wants her next steps to be. Everything else is pretty immaterial to him. He may not even speak himself, if that question is answered through conversations with the others.
Fiona
Fiona's curious to know if she would like to join ALASTAIR, though obviously she understands if the whole imprisonment thing has soured her on the idea. She'd also like to debate a little about the TIMELINE.exe machine; she knows that Mavahari believes in Zymandis's Timeline machine, but ALASTAIR's Timeline machine must be equally correct since they both use the same calculations. (Obviously she's bullshitting, she doesn't know anything about computers. Sometimes people lie, Mavahari.) If she were to see proof that Zymandis's method of total multiversal annihilation isn't the only way, what would she do?
Loki
He'll try to go last, after Scott, Ahad and Fiona. Loki will ask her if she wants to go back, and if she doesn't want to head back to Zymandis, where she would like to go. He'll want to know how she feels after the whole … taking her captive thing, and will be paying extra attention for changes in expression. He seems fairly focused on her wants vs. the timeline thing—we all need a bit of selfish reinforcement here and there. Depending on how she answers he may have a plan.
no subject
Mavahari isn't angry with Scott, and though she's puzzled by his apology, she politely accepts it. She doesn't ask about what their next mission is, as she assumes they won't tell her. As for her future, she doesn't believe there is a future, since her belief in Zymandis's TIMELINE.exe's calculations is absolute. (After discussing the TIMELINE.exe's possibly fallacies with Fiona, she'll go back to Scott and say she would just like to go somewhere quiet and start a farm.)
Ahad:
What she wants is irrelevant, since the multiverse is headed for inevitable destruction.
Fiona:
She would have joined ALASTAIR due to her now being in George's debt, though the imprisonment has removed the debt. She is open to debating with Fiona, and the questions she raises gives her a lot to think about. If both TIMELINE.exes are correct, perhaps she has more of a choice in the matter than she thought.
Loki:
Mavahari is no longer indebted to Zymandis, so returning is not necessary. However, since she believes in Zymandis's rhetoric, where she wants to go is irrelevant; the mutliverse is destined for destruction anyway. She's annoyed by her imprisonment, but feels no strong pull to return to Zymandis. She only wants to be free and out of this place to live out what life she has left.
