Here is a post to reach any of the NPCs active within ALASTAIR. Please specify which NPC you are looking to reach in the header of your first comment.
As a note, NPCs will not always be available to reach. They are often busy on their own missions or with other mechanics within ALASTAIR, so please check to be sure the post is currently open before beginning a thread. ICly, a message sent to an unavailable NPC will bounce back to the character that had sent it as an unanswered echo of their original message.
The NPCs should be contacted for plot-relevant purposes and direction only. Think of them more as plot devices than characters.
[It's a surprise to see someone use familiar terms like 'lil sibs'. Haise reminds himself, though, that Kittypaw was referred to in terms of being a big sister team so surely it's in reference to that.
In any case, he shouldn't waste her time mulling such things over]
Thank you for replying. To start with, what I heard from Jin is that Uruz felt confident Oska could not be found if anyone ever wanted to target it. I'm wondering how confident, after that infestation of time-bugs. Did they do any lasting damage?
[Color him overly concerned, but the seemingly uncanny nature of his own squad coming across anything Zymandis-related leaves him unable to fend that worry off. Audentes doesn't have the knowledge or skills to return on their own and help if some other uncanny event occurred while they're away]
I don't intend to be rude in asking. My squad's quite a bit newer and it seems we know far less.
uh, kinda sorta?? they don't happen too often, but they happen!! it's just like time roaches or whatever. they get too big for their mandibles and then we gotta TAKE'EM OUT (◣_◢)
Is their relationship to time how they get there to begin with? I can't remember much of that month but my understanding was they tore holes in reality or something of the sort, in the end. Can that sort of thing be repaired?
This must seem like a lot of late questions about common pests to someone with your experience, but we have nothing like them in my world.
[That and it's worrying that simple pests can get past defenses Kittypaw is collectively confident about.
But the more he understands, the better, in his mind]
I've been doing that when I can, so I'll keep at it. Here's hoping you're staying safe.
I did have one last question. Are there any policies regarding how much we're allowed to affect the people in a given world, aside briefings telling us whether we should avoid drawing attention? Keith and I were discussing this recently and neither of us had an answer.
Especially since our team gets pretty deeply divided on what we ought to do, I've been wondering if there are guidelines we should know and be following.
I'm sorry you feel that way, but that was all I was asking.
I came from a very structured background, and I thought I'd defer to someone with greater experience in this organization, especially since I'd never even heard of it before my own recruitment.
But I see that I've imposed, so thank you for your time.
I wouldn't want to trouble you further with my own conjecture.
For my own sake, I suppose you could say I just wanted to make sure Oska and anyone there would assuredly be safe. Where I'm from there aren't any such things as guaranteed or air-tight security, or at least, it would be dangerous to think so.
Although I understand my world is just one small place, I still needed to ask. The uncanny nature of my squad encountering anything Zymandis-related two missions in a row made it difficult not to worry that there might be something wrong I couldn't see, silly as that must seem.
Wow!! (゚ω゚;) It seems things were getting a bit heated with Cassie. I've given her a sticker for her efforts, but I think it might be best for me to take over from here.
All right. Let me attempt to explain! ೭੧(❛▿❛✿)੭೨ Given ALASTAIR's history as a splinter group, I believe we have always been a bit disorganized. It might help to think of us more as a coalition of various teams; most matters are handled internally within the teams themselves, so ground rules would be set and enforced by the teams. ALASTAIR as a whole would prefer the most peaceful approach, of course, but that isn't always possible, and what's most important is ensuring that the Timeline doesn't destabilize.
As for Oska, I assure you it is very safe despite the occasional time bug infestation.
As Cassie mentioned, we are on a mission dealing with many giant centipedes at the moment! (@O@;) I am afraid this is all I can give you, I fear one of them will eat the kitties if I don't intervene.

Though he doesn't expect the bugs to be waved off as common pests, if only for their troubling nature]
I've just been wondering lately, especially since my squad's a little different. We might not have the same understanding others do.
How common are those infestations?

But would changing the biology of the native population, for instance, still count as acceptable?

the first thing i hate is fucking repeating myself
there are
no
rules
because we don't
have
a hierarchy!! there are no ALASTAIR COPS waiting to arrest u for fucking shit up
if u fuck it up, it's between u, yourself, and the fucking universe (⋋▂⋌)
the second thing i hate!! is when people don't just spit out what they're trying to say!!
so quit leading me down some dark forest path and get to the fucking point!!

[Because troubling associates is basically a social sin, coming from his background. Not something one wants to commit, much less repeatedly]
Thank you for the information, and please stay safe.
