Magitek is a combination of technology and magic that is used by Hathaway for their communication systems. Upon joining, characters will receive a piece of jewelry of their choosing. When the wearer wishes it, it will display videos or text in front of them that only they can see, or play audio messages. Instead of using a physical or holographic keyboard, characters need only think up the message they wish to send. They can broadcast messages to the whole crew or have one-on-one conversations via personal inboxes. However, filtering to certain groups of people is not possible. Anonymous posts and replies are also not allowed. All conversations in a network broadcast are publicly visible, and voice-to-text/dictation is available for those who need it. The piece of jewelry can be whatever the characters want, within reason; Hathaway will provide a variety of necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, etc., but they don't have any enchanted belly button piercings, for example! As long as it's somewhat professional, characters will be allowed to have it. Characters will be allowed to choose a name to identify themselves by when they first use their jewelcomm. Usernames can contain spaces and symbols, so Two Words! works fine. If they decline to choose a username, it will default to their real name, all lowercase, no spaces, i.e. johndoe. All jewelcomms come with several functional apps installed: Calculator Drawing/photo markup Encyclopedia Games: snake, solitaire, mahjong Guildmate directory (username list with attached personnel files) Local weather Navigation/maps (with built-in tracking function) Notebook Photo/video There is also TekFlex, a media app which is loaded with a vast library of interdimensional books, movies/TV shows, and music. (Absolutely no media relating to in-game characters' origins is available on TekFlex, even off-brand. Abuse of TekFlex for canon puncture/fourth-walling will result in mod intervention.)
